Comparison: Continental EcoContact 6 vs. Michelin Primacy 4 vs. Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2 vs. Goodyear Efficientgrip 2 SUV vs. Pirelli Cinturato P7

Continental EcoContact 6 and Michelin Primacy 4 are both summer tyres designed to provide excellent performance on dry and wet roads. In this article, we will compare both tyres based on their strengths and weaknesses, as well as their test results.

Continental EcoContact 6 is a summer tyre that has replaced the Continental ContiEcoContact 5. Its strengths include low exterior noise, comfort, and rolling resistance (AutoBild 2022, ADAC 2021). However, it falls short in terms of aquaplaning reserves, wet braking, delayed steering response, and understeering driving behavior (autobild 2022). According to test results from Autozeitung, it ranked 7th out of 10, while in ACE test, it took 3rd place.

Michelin Primacy 4 is the successor to Michelin Primacy 3 and provides excellent dry braking, fuel efficiency, comfort, and wet handling (Teknikens). However, its wet handling and cornering performance can be somewhat limited (GTÜ). In the AutoBild 2022 test, Michelin Primacy 4 secured the 8th position, while in ADAC 2021 and AutoMotorSport tests, it claimed the 1st position for its best notes on dry pavements and low levels of wear.

In summary, the Michelin Primacy 4 is the better tyre overall when comparing the two, with better overall test results and a stronger focus on dry braking, fuel efficiency, comfort, and wet handling. Meanwhile, the Continental EcoContact 6 provides advantages in terms of low noise, comfort, and rolling resistance, but it may fall short in wet conditions due to its weaker aquaplaning resistance and wet braking. Ultimately, the choice between the two tyres depends on the individual's priorities and driving conditions.
