Comparison: Ceat 4 SeasonDrive vs. Kumho HA32 Solus 4S vs. Firestone Multiseason 2

In terms of an all-round tyre, the Ceat 4 SeasonDrive and Kumho HA32 Solus 4S are both solid options, despite having different strengths and weaknesses.

The Ceat 4 SeasonDrive, made in India, has a rating of 26% from us and showed a good kilometer performance, low noise levels, and a favourable price in the Autobild 2023 test. Some downsides of this model include subpar winter qualities with limited lateral guidance on snow and extended braking distances in wet conditions.

The Kumho HA32 Solus 4S, manufactured in China, meanwhile, scored better in the same test, achieving a 64% rating. The tyre stood out for its good snow traction, safe dry and wet handling, and low noise levels, all for a low price. Nonetheless, the model also exhibited some weaknesses, including moderate aquaplaning reserves, slightly extended dry/wet braking distances and increased rolling resistance.

In the Autobild comparison, the HA32 Solus 4S from Kumho performed better, coming out 12th out of 35 tyres. The SeasonDrive from Ceat, however, secured a position closer to the bottom, at 34. The HA32 Solus 4S ranked well due to its exterior noise and snow braking capabilities.

When summarizing test data, the Ceat 4 SeasonDrive presents the most advantage for drivers focused on mileage and price, while the Kumho HA32 Solus 4S appears to be a more balanced, versatile option, demonstrating strong performances in various conditions, despite its slight shortcomings.

However, the final decision depends ultimately on the individual requirements of each driver; for example, a driver frequently driving in winter conditions might be better served by the better winter performance of the Kumho HA32 Solus 4S.

While neither tyre has been replaced by a newer model, the manufacturers continuously work on innovating and improving their products in response to user feedback and testing data.

To summarise, both are solid options, but the Kumho HA32 Solus 4S outperforms the Ceat 4 SeasonDrive overall in testing comparisons.
