Comparison: Bridgestone Turanza T005 vs. Petlas Imperium PT515

Comparing two summer tyres - the Bridgestone Turanza T005 and the Petlas Imperium PT515. The Bridgestone tyre is produced by Bridgestone while the latter is manufactured by the Turkish brand, Petlas.

The Bridgestone Turanza T005, made in several European countries, is a top performer with a 92% rating from us. Its excellent features include Aquaplaning - longitudal, Dry driving behavior, Wet braking, Wet circle cornering, and Wet handling. In tests, it constantly rated high, even securing the first position in the ADAC test out of 16 tyres. Moreover, in a field of 53 tyres in the Autobild test, it secured the seventh position with a special mention for its Rolling resistance characteristic. Autobild also commended it for its balanced performance and efficiency rating it as having no particular weaknesses.

On the other hand, the Petlas Imperium PT515, manufactured in Turkey, has a much lower rating of 48% from us. In the ADAC test, it managed only the 13th position out of 16. In the Autobild test, it came in 35th out of 53 tyres. Autobild's test summary noted that while it had good mileage and low wear, it showed significant weaknesses in dry and wet driving. They remarked on its comparably heavy weight and sustainability issues.

Verdict: Given the results of mutual tests, it is clear that the Bridgestone Turanza T005 is the superior tyre. Its 92% rating, top position in tests and balance in all performance areas make it a solid choice for any motorist. The Petlas Imperium PT515, while offering good mileage, falls short in terms of balanced performance and sustainability.

Replacement tyres: As of this time, neither the Bridgestone Turanza T005 nor the Petlas Imperium PT515 have a newer tyre that has replaced them on the market.
