Comparison: Bridgestone Potenza Sport vs. Continental PremiumContact 6 vs. Michelin Pilot Sport 4 vs. Michelin Pilot Sport 3

Today, we present a comparison between two renowned tyres - The Bridgestone Potenza Sport and the Continental PremiumContact 6 – that will give you an insight into their performance and make your tyre selection easier.

The Bridgestone Potenza Sport received a rating of 92% and is a summer tyre that stands out with its splendid curve grip on both wet and dry roads. The tyre has a very sporty feel with its precise handling. However, it does display increased rolling resistance and noise, and performs rather disappointingly in the wet braking department. In a total of 10 tyres tested by 'Automotorsport', it secured the 5th position with its best features being aquaplaning, dry handling, dry steering response, and wet handling.

The Continental PremiumContact 6 is another summer tyre that received a rating of 92%. It has replaced the previous model, 'Continental ContiPremiumContact 5' and has been further replaced by the 'Continental PremiumContact 7'. The tyre shines with its short dry braking distance, superb wet and dry handling, and its impressive comfort and silence. It, however, displays minor drawbacks in steering response, aquaplaning safety reserves, and extended wet braking distances. In the 'Automotorsport' test, it excelled and secured the 2nd position with its best features being comfort, dry braking, and dry lane changing among the 10 tyres tested.

From the perspective of 'Autobild', the Bridgestone Potenza Sport's strong sides include dry and wet braking and handling corner, but suffers from a high rolling resistance and increased noise. On the other hand, the Continental PremiumContact 6 showcased strong dry braking performance but had comparatively lower safety reserves during aquaplaning and delays in steering response, securing it the 7th position among 11 tyres.

Interestingly, both tyres share a total rating of 92% indicating their high-quality performance overall yet they both demonstrate distinct strengths and weaknesses in different areas. Your tyre choice would, therefore, largely depend on your driving environment and style.

Regardless of the minor nuances, in terms of overall test positions, the Continental PremiumContact 6 tends to perform better compared to the Bridgestone Potenza Sport. However, both tyres continue to be excellent performers in their respective manufacturers' line-up and promising choice for any driver prioritizing security, comfort, and performance.
