Comparison: BFGoodrich Advantage vs. Toyo Proxes Comfort vs. Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2 vs. Michelin Primacy 5

The battle of tyres is at a constant ebb and flow, and the current contention of interest is between BFGoodrich Advantage and the Toyo Proxes Comfort. As noted from our tests, each of these tyres has its own unique strengths and weaknesses, making for an interesting comparison.

BFGoodrich Advantage

The BFGoodrich Advantage excels notably in terms of comfort and dry handling. However, our accumulated test findings show it has a tendency to understeer during wet conditions. It scored an overall rating of 68% in our review and landed on the 18th and 21st position in Autobild and ADAC tests respectively. Nonetheless, its merits include high level of comfort, dynamic dry handling, low rolling resistance and affordable cost. Even though it is among the cheaper options, it still provides an agreeably quiet ride and stable performance on dry roads. However, they do fall short in terms of handling and braking in wet conditions.

Toyo Proxes Comfort

On the other hand, Toyo Proxes Comfort, which obtained a 66% rating from us, showed exceptional performance when it comes to rolling resistance and dry handling. From the Autobild test, it performed better than the BFGoodrich model, by securing 17th position. Toyo Proxes Comfort is a touring tyre designed for summer usage, featuring dynamic wet and dry handling, short braking distances and a quiet ride. However, it has a relatively lower mileage and limited safety when cornering on wet roads.

Verdict

In terms of the overall position in mutual tests, the Toyo Proxes Comfort tends to receive higher ranks. It has a pretty balanced performance on both wet and dry conditions which is a slight edge over the BFGoodrich Advantage, which tends to understeer when handling in wet conditions. These findings summarize the characteristics of each tyre, with BFGoodrich Advantage performing robustly in dry weather, and Toyo Proxes Comfort outperforming in both wet and dry conditions, but does have some limitations in terms of mileage. Choosing between these two can largely depend on your specific needs and driving conditions.

All in all, both of these tyres manufactured by BFGoodrich and Toyo have proven that they can deliver quality and comfort for your driving experience. Each tyre features unique benefits and has its own drawbacks as well. Finally, it is up to you to consider which tyre better suits your requirements.
