Comparison: BFGoodrich Advantage vs. Petlas Imperium PT515 vs. Fulda EcoControl HP2 vs. GoodYear Efficientgrip Performance 2

When it comes to selecting top-quality tyres, two models that often emerge in conversations are the BFGoodrich Advantage and the Petlas Imperium PT515. These tyres, produced by reputable manufacturers, BFGoodrich and Petlas respectively, offer various compelling features and remarkable performances.

The BFGoodrich Advantage, an impressive summer tyre, comes with a rating of 66% from our own rigorous tests. The highest position it achieved in both Autobild and ADAC tests was 9th and 18th out of 15 and 53 tyres respectively. The tyre's compelling attributes according to these tests include its comfort, dry handling, and exceptional fuel efficiency. A summary from Autobild 2024 test highlights its dynamic dry handling, quiet rolling noise, low rolling resistance, and its affordable price. However, the same test also flagged its slight tendency to understeer in wet conditions.

On the other hand, the Petlas Imperium PT515, also a summer tyre, scored a 42% rating on our site. In mutual tests, this tyre occupied the lower ending of the scale, with positions of 35th and 14th out of 15 and 53 tyres tested in Autobild and ADAC tests respectively. Notably, one positive feature pointed by Autobild 2024 test was its high mileage and low wear. However, its overall balanced performance was deemed insufficient, with noticeable weaknesses on both wet and dry roads. Furthermore, the tyre was criticized for being relatively heavy and showing significant sustainability issues.

Comparing both tyres, the BFGoodrich Advantage demonstrates a higher performance efficiency overall in the tests, offering superior comfort, handling, and fuel efficiency, while coming at a more affordable price. Although the Petlas Imperium PT515 demonstrates commendable mileage and wear resistance, its weaknesses in other aspects such as performance on different road types and weight should not be overlooked when considering an optimal summer tyre choice.

It is worthy to note that, at the moment, none of these tyres has a successor model, meaning that they still represent the latest technology from their respective manufacturers.

In conclusion, while the choice between these two tyres ultimately depends on individual preferences and specific requirements, the data from the test results indicate that the BFGoodrich Advantage may provide a more balanced and economical performance overall.
