Comparison: Apollo Alnac 4G vs. Pirelli Cinturato P7 C2 vs. GoodYear UltraGrip Performance+

Today we are comparing two summer tyres, the Apollo Alnac 4G and Pirelli Cinturato P7 C2. Both of these tyres have been tested extensively and we have got the results to make a comprehensive comparison.

The Apollo Alnac 4G, produced by Apollo Tyres, scores a bit low in our rating system, securing only 23% points. One of the struggles for this tyre is its overall balance. Test results submitted by Autoklub ČR and ADAC places it well below the middle in their respective tests. While the Apollo Alnac 4G does fare decently in efficiency, it has significant weakness in both dry and wet road performance, showing relatively high wear and having issues with the overall sustainability.

On the other hand, the Pirelli Cinturato P7 C2, a product of Pirelli Tyres, scored high with 89% in our internal ratings. The tyre replaced one of its previous models - the Pirelli P7 Cinturato. It performed brilliantly in the Autobild test where it was marked second out of 53 tyres, and was especially strong in wet braking. Despite these feats, Pirelli Cinturato P7 C2 does have some drawbacks which include challenges on wet roads and some issues with sustainability. However, the tyre is praised for its performance on dry surfaces and for its efficiency and durability.

Looking at mutual test positions, Autoklub ČR ranked Pirelli Cinturato P7 C2 10 places higher than Apollo Alnac 4G. Similarly in ADAC tests, Pirelli was 10 spots ahead again. The gap widened even further in Autobild’s test where Pirelli beat Apollo by a whopping 19 places.

To conclude, the Apollo Alnac 4G appears to be an affordable choice but its performance is compromised, particularly in handling wet and dry roads. Pirelli Cinturato P7 C2, on the other hand, gives a superior performance and excels in many areas, albeit with slight issues in handling wet conditions and sustainability. Pirelli has soon replaced the model with a new version - Pirelli Cinturato (C3), maintaining their cycle of continuous improvement. Overall, Pirelli Cinturato P7 C2 is the clear winner in this comparison.
