If you're in the market for allround tyres, consider comparing the Vredestein Quatrac Pro+ and the Michelin CrossClimate 2. These models from Vredestein and Michelin have been the focus of several tyre tests. Let's see how they stack up against each other.
The Vredestein Quatrac Pro+, manufactured in Hungary, replaced the previous model, Vredestein Quatrac Pro, drawing a rating of 60% in our tests. This tyre shows balanced performance on both wet and dry surfaces, as emphasized in the Ace 2018 test review. However, it ranked fairly low in the AUTOBILD, SPORTAUTO, and ALVOLANTE tests, coming in at 7th, 6th, and 6th place respectively. Although not a top contender in these tests, the Vredestein Quatrac Pro+ is still regarded as a viable, cost-effective choice for an allround tyre.
In contrast, the Michelin CrossClimate 2, produced in Italy and Spain, supersedes the original Michelin CrossClimate model and boasts a high rating of 92% in our tests. The CrossClimate 2 excels notably in snow traction, handling, and braking, as well as dry braking and rolling resistance, as indicated by its outstanding performance in the AUTOBILD test.
Furthermore, the autobild 2025 test praises the tyre for performing better than most winter tyres in the snow, its balanced performance, and its potential for fuel-saving due to its low rolling resistance. In the SPORTAUTO and ALVOLANTE tests, it also fared better than the Vredestein Quatrac Pro+, securing 4th and 2nd place, respectively.
In conclusion, while the Vredestein Quatrac Pro+ offers balanced performance and affordability, the Michelin CrossClimate 2 stands out for its excellent snow performance and potential for fuel-saving. Based on our tests and numerous others, the Michelin CrossClimate 2 generally outperforms the Vredestein Quatrac Pro+ and could be considered the superior allround tyre.
