Hankook tyres are getting better with every new generation and the Ventus Evo is the latest evolution. It aims for the stars with excellent dry and wet handling, best-in-test wet braking and top aquaplaning speed, while producing very low exterior noise. The only notable weakness is higher rolling resistance. Still, it is a premium tyre for slightly less than a premium price.

Goodride is a Chinese budget brand and the Solmax 1 is their freshest entry into the European market. The test results don't paint a great picture — 8th at Autobild and 11th at Tyre Reviews, with wet braking and aquaplaning resistance as clear weak spots. It is notably quiet, which makes it a reasonable pick for EV drivers on a tight budget, but for a tyre introduced in 2025, falling short on wet safety is not where you want to be.
