The purchased tyres carried the individual 87\/91 H\/V indices shown in the magazine, and the comparison was conducted to the 87 H specification. Snow testing took place in Finland. Snow, dry performance and the environmental category contributed 20 percent each. Within those categories, braking had the largest safety weighting: 30 percent on snow and 40 percent on wet and dry roads. Auto Motor und Sport combined repeatable instrumented measurements with experienced-driver assessments. A score of five points or less in a safety-critical braking or handling discipline reduced the relevant category score by one point.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Continental_wins_through_balance_and_efficiency\"><\/span>Continental wins through balance and efficiency<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The <strong>Continental AllSeasonContact 2<\/strong> won with 8.7 points out of ten. It scored 8.8 in the heavily weighted wet category, 8.5 on dry roads and a test-best 9.7 in the environmental assessment. Its measured rolling-resistance coefficient of 7.0 kg\/t was the lowest in the field. Auto Motor und Sport describes it as the strongest all-round package and particularly suitable for small electric cars, though its aquaplaning scores were less convincing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vredestein Quatrac<\/strong> placed second with 8.2 points and received the price-performance recommendation. It led the wet category with 8.9 and stopped from 80 km\/h in 30.4 metres, the shortest wet braking result. <strong>Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF3<\/strong> took third with 8.0, led the snow category at 8.8 and produced the shortest dry stop, 39.2 metres from 100 km\/h. Its higher rolling resistance reduced the environmental score to 6.9.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Official_ranking\"><\/span>Official ranking<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Continental AllSeasonContact 2 \u2014 8.7, very good.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Vredestein Quatrac \u2014 8.2, very good and the price-performance recommendation.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF3 \u2014 8.0, very good.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Nokian Seasonproof 2 \u2014 7.9, good.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6 \u2014 7.6, good.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Uniroyal AllSeasonExpert 3 \u2014 7.5, good.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Hankook Kinergy 4S2 H750 \u2014 7.2, good.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Kleber Quadraxer 3 \u2014 7.1, good.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Falken EuroALL Season AS210 \u2014 7.1, good.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_the_measurements_reveal\"><\/span>What the measurements reveal<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Hankook recorded the shortest snow stop at 30.0 metres from 50 km\/h and the highest snow lateral grip at 3.98 m\/s\u00b2, but its dynamic snow handling was weaker. Nokian set the fastest snow-handling lap at 89.3 km\/h on average and the strongest lateral aquaplaning result at 3.71 m\/s\u00b2. Pirelli led snow traction at 1.38 m\/s\u00b2 and longitudinal aquaplaning at 85.8 km\/h. At the other end of the wet-braking table, Falken needed 33.3 metres. On dry asphalt, Uniroyal&#8217;s 44.8-metre stop was the longest. Kleber and Nokian shared the lowest exterior noise figure at 70.9 dB(A), while Hankook was loudest at 72.6 dB(A) and also had the highest rolling resistance at 8.1 kg\/t.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Different_strengths_behind_the_totals\"><\/span>Different strengths behind the totals<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Nokian combined strong snow and dry scores of 8.4 and 8.6 but lost ground in wet grip and braking. Bridgestone led the dry category with 8.8 and was the sportiest tyre, yet its 6.8 snow score was the lowest in the field and wet performance was only moderate. Uniroyal, the least expensive tyre in the magazine&#8217;s price sample at 89 euros, remained predictable but reacted rather slowly and had limitations in dry braking and aquaplaning. Hankook was strong in individual snow and dry disciplines, but its 5.6 environmental result was the test&#8217;s lowest. Kleber remained dependable on snow but required long wet braking distances. Falken was controllable on snow and braked well in the dry, while weak wet grip, aquaplaning resistance and comfort held it back.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"All-season_tyres_still_require_compromise\"><\/span>All-season tyres still require compromise<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Every product received at least a good verdict, and the first three were rated very good. Nevertheless, Auto Motor und Sport concludes that all-season tyres are most sensible for small and compact cars used mainly in or near cities.
